History
Compositor húngaro, ya a los 15 años debutó como pianista en Rusia, luego se convirtió en profesor de música y más tarde en director de orquesta en Wiener Neustadt (1864-5), Innsbruck, Trieste y en el Carltheater de Viena; posteriormente ingresó en el servicio militar, llegando a ser director de banda de varios regimientos de infantería austrohúngaros, durante la década de 1880 y principios de la de 1890 dirigió los "Conciertos Monstruosos" en el Prater de Viena. Compuso numerosas obras de música de salón y de baile de gran éxito, así como varias operetas.
