Nació de Delaware (EE.UU), ciudad donde realizó sus estudios. Luego trabajó para el punto cuarto, va a Brasil por un año al Centro de la Ingeniería Rural, que es el lugar de instrucción para agrónomos en ese país.
Mr. Myer, que tiene los títulos de Bachelor y Master of Science. Llegó a Chile el 15 de mayo de 1954, desarrolló una interesante labor de entrenamiento de técnicos en este tipo de maquinarias, dirigió los cultivos totalmente mecanizados de maíz, porotos, etc., divulgó el uso de guadaña con recolector, diseñando nuevos implementos para recolección de porotos con máquina, etc.
Este experto americano contratado por el Instituto de Asuntos Interamericanos, mantuvo su residencia en Chillán donde vivió con su esposa e hijos.
